East End Health Network’s (EEHN) Cancer Awareness Event was held at the Spitalfeilds Practices on Wednesday 17 June. As patients came in to the practice for their appointments our Cancer advisers were on hand to have a quick chat with the patients to ask if they’ve been screened and the importance of getting screened for a whole range of cancer diseases. The Network team provided light refreshments and encouraged patients to engage with the Cancer advisers, the day was a huge success with a good turnout.
We also had a lot of participation from cancer charity groups such as Beating bowel cancer, Bowel Cancer UK & Breast cancer care and they all provided the East End Health Network with useful publication explaining in detail about Cancer causes, symptoms and treatments.
EEHN's aims to empower people with health information to assist in detecting cancer early and to encourage cancer screening as well as providing information about support services available. The guiding principle is around early intervention & prevention with the aim to promote health checks and create awareness about long term conditions.
